iRhino 3D App Reviews

I was amazed at how quick this app is displaying 3D models. I am happy to see the Rhino 3D team jumping on the iPad so early! I have a feeling its only going to get better from here! I think this app is heading in a good direction!

Im using matrix 6.3 and I love this app. For future updates: 1:able to change backgrounds 2:what about...show your project rendered 3:able to change color metals and gems 4:fix the delay

App works great! I cant wait to try with 3d glasses. The store description page says email attachments for iPad only, I can view them just fine on my iPhone 4. Tap the attachment to download file. Once you see the rhino icon next to your file name, touch and hold until it says Open in "iRhino 3d". Things I would like to see in an update: It would be cool to change object colors from iPhone, or maybe just change layer colors. Also lighting and textures would be nice. But honestly, I have zero complaints. I am very happy with my purchase of iRhino 3d and would recommend it to everyone who uses Rhino. Now I no longer have to render my models in several views to show a client a concept. I can show them in 3d without lugging around my computer.

Please add: -Dropbox Support -layers choser -focus on selected object -option to change view ( top, left,right, isometric...) -Tucan materials

This works well. I am surprised how fast the 3d manipulations work. It is about the same speed that my thinkpad will rotate a complex object. For an improvement I would like to see the ability to measure distance between points, getting a dx dy and dz like in rhino. That would require all the same point selects of course. This would be useful because Im a machinist and its such a pain to document every conceivable measurement so I end up using a pc with the 3d model and measuring features out in the shop. It would be neat to do this on the iPod.

What can I say, this has been a solid reliable viewer of Rhino’s .3dm files. In your desktop (windows/mac) Rhino application make a nurbs object or import a mesh. Place it online, even in dropbox. Copy that URL, run to Rhino 3d and view it. It works! Please note at this time it does not support textures. But the devs indicate that this may be an upcoming feature. For those that use Rhino in their workflow this is a great handheld application.

Could you please add the ability to open email attachments with iPhone? Its not very useful to me and my colleagues without this feature. Other then that it works great.

For future updates: Show the model rendered turn table layers I will pay extra if you put this tools!!!!!!!! 

Based on the description and recommendation from iTunes I thought this was a 3d modeling app. Please state more clearly that this is a companion app for a windows-based desktop 3d program. Its really annoying to download an app and realize it is completely useless.

Excellent tool for 3D presentation.

I would like to see Dropbox compatibility added, just like how theres google docs compatibility. Otherwise very nice interface, just would like to see a seamless interface with Dropbox, Im sure a lot of us users use that over google docs.

This would be useful to me, but only If it can communicate with my dropbox, where all my Rhino projects are. Please add dropbox compatibility!

Works great, and I can even open files that have been emailed to me since the last update. Love it. Could use some improvement on the "spin" of it, as it is now, manipulation is a bit "dead", in that thnigs have no inertia at all, like you expect things to react on an iPhone when you move them (think of scrolling). Thats the only real downside that drops it to four stars for me.

Easily displays rhino models on the iPhone, but only if theyre emailed. Give us dropbox support and it will be a 5 star app!

I love this app. It was easy to setup, easy to use and required no instruction. This app can only get worse through feature creep.

Great for rotating, panning and zooming objects. Decent speed, at least with the supplied models. Its a good start but still lots missing. This app desperately needs, -Layers. To turn off parts of the model. -Orthographic views. Right, left, top etc. -Choice of shaded view. Rendered, wireframe, shaded, x-ray etc. -****Support for Auxpecker materials applied in Rhino****

For my needs, this is mostly useless without layer support. Should specify in description that this app only partially supports the native Rhino file format.

Its a pretty slick application for not having a lot of functionality. Its a synch for me to open my files on dropbox, and then show them to my teammates. No fuss work required, and the default render settings will do for now. I just wish I could change them a bit. Layers too, for sure.

I use this app to review models with clients. Of course there are things Id like to control like layers, wireframe or ghost viewing options, but Im sure thats coming. For now, I use Dropbox to download the model files and this program allows you to spin, zoom, and move around smoothly... Even with demanding complex models. This probably the most useful app I have for my business as a furniture designer.

Please add transparency and viewing options that rhino allows,and layers!!! basic render viewing mode is lame and unhelpful in a lot of cases.
